Astonish Engg. & Mktg. a proprietary company, was incorporated in 1998 by Nishikant Shankar Thakur, a first-generation entrepreneur and a qualified Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer, with a view to provide solutions for non-standard and research and development-based solutions to defense research organizations.

The company was established with the inspiration from the appeal to all technically qualified citizens of India to work for the nation by, then Scientific Adviser to Prime Minister and now Past President of India, Bharat Ratna A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. 

It has been the endeavor of Astonish to provide Cost effective and ‘Indian’ solutions to all the needs of the DRDO (Defense Research & Development Organization) establishments, such as Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), Pashan, Pune, since 1998.

The major development projects undertaken with ARDE are PINAKA (Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher) and PRITHVI (under Integrated Guided Missile Development Program IGMDP)

These projects were in development stage till 2002 and are now under production stages and the work on them have shifted to various Ordnance Factories and Ammunition Factories of Government of India.

Astonish being the supplier in design stages is a pre-qualified supplier to the items it has been supplying to the ARDE, HEMRL etc.

Astonish has a distinction of being the supplier to successfully completed Limited series production of PRITHVI missile system and PINAKA MBRL system.

Also, with emphasis on privatization of the production of defense equipment, astonish has an advantage of being a successful supplier to many defense products and understands the need for expansion of its business to grab the current opportunity, in coming years.

To widen the business avenues, astonish has now added few products to its range namely Flow Meters and has also obtained SSI (MSME-Micro) registration. Astonish is now a licensed Electrical Contracting firm as well.

To widen the area of business and to avail the new avenues, astonish is in process of getting registrations with all other defense organizations such as Base repair Depots of Indian Air Force and their Indigenous Product Development Project and Import Substitute Product Cells.

In recent past Astonish has successfully undertaken works for Ordnance Factories for Squib Plug (Bridged) and MIDC for flow meters. We are also authorized dealers of MiFlow brand of flow meters and other products and supplying and providing comprehensive annual maintenance contracts for flow meters.
